Following the WallyCento, the traditional superstructure was completely absorbed in the deck, leaving the exterior free of obstacles and allowing the students to see all winches, wheels and ropes, reach the necessary positions or sit at a safe location and watch the vessel's being operated by colleagues or tutor.The masts allow the sails to be rolled directly inside them (see LS5) and thus be disassembled  and shipped or stored easily and safely. Main mast stiffeners were replaced with  secondary "masts" on the sides of the ship thus allowing their inner-rolled shaders to be unfolded when desired. The challenging interior of a 14m yacht designed for 8 students produced an intimate assembly of twin single bed cabins spread symmetrically on the layout of the vessel. Two of them with pullman beds and so are flexible enough to become VIP cabins for tutors, professors and/or guests. 


While the traditional superstructure is absent the deck is far from simple. The ropes are carefully arranged so they engulf the external furniture positions, visible for the students and allow sufficient space for the sailing necessary operations. While the appendixes are extended, their white base is exposed to better present the new obstacle on the former plain deck.

Storage area for food, drinks and equipment is located at the front near the bow. Due to the fact the vessel carries 8 passengers for several days, a large portion is dedicated for this function.

Even though the sailboat was designed for a cruise the boat is far from slow. The hull was especially designed to be incredibly sea worthy and efficient. Looking at the data over at the Technical

Although considered "Old-School" -Wood has a far superior strength to weight ratio than does fiberglass, better sound insulator and is far more durable. Another important fact which helped with the decision to go for a wooden hull was that it is recyclable. The aft platform is detachable and with the hydraulic levers reposition itself in the proper height for embarkment in most ports and harbors and of course could lower itself into a comfortable near water position. Hydro dynamos helps recharging the batteries in a clean, green and silent way.

Securely located behind the twin rudders the propellers participate in the turbulence relaxing process. Two rudders protecting two dynamos and their proximity to the water level helps student to spot the rudder while the vessel heels.


The decision to go for a twin rudders system was for allowing the students see the actual rudder close to the water surface while heeling. The choice of color for these part is of course to maximize the visibility of the rudder while under water.


Following the zeitgeist of our era, the layout thrives to produce a yacht that will be able to offer as comfortable a solution as possible for a large crew while maintaining a highly efficient design with low energy consumption, autonomic recycling systems, green energy production and all that in a boat that by itself can me recycled.

For years cold-molded wood construction has been used successfully in building small sailing dinghies, competitive 
rowing shells, cruising sailboats, rugged multi-hulls, and swift powerboats. The technique involves laminating 
together layers of wood veneers or very thin planks to create a hull that is watertight, extremely strong, 
and lightweight.

Ecological design is not only a gimmick in this yacht. It means high efficiency, in order to reduce consumption, and of course it also means recycling - as can be seen in this PLUMBING arrangement. Gray water are used to flush the toilets and black water are securely stored.


Good ventilation will allow air to circulate through your boat prolonging her life and making it more comfortable for the crew. Wooden boats suffer less from condensation problems than GRP and metal boats due to the superior insulation properties of the wood. However, good air circulation should not be ignored thus the system was carefully planned.


The layout for the ELECTRICITY shows not only that the yacht is seaworthy but how much thought was put into making it green, ecological and efficient as possible. Energy is produced by SOLAR PANELS and HYDRO-POWER GENERATORS to recharge the batteries in a quiet and non-polluting methods.
