The fleet of MSC Cruises is expanding, more and more ships are being designed and the first prototypes are already in the first stages of building at the shipyards. One of the sour spots of these magnificent vessels are the side lifeboats. Bright orange residing in an exposed channel on each facade the lifeboats are not only unaesthetic but also easily damaged by waves & continuous direct and reflected sunlight.
WHAT
As a new generation of flagships is about to be built a final touch is given to proposed designs and layouts throughout the ships. Even the existing external skeleton of the vessels are being reconcidered before dispatching the final blueprints to the shipyards and factories.

WHERE
MSC Meraviglia and MSC Seaside were the first two vessels to run a design audit over the blueprints proposed by the various architectural offices involved. with an overall of 7,500 beds in each ship the necessity for efficiency while not compromising comfort is needed.

In 2015, MSC Cruises had four new ships on order from STX France and Fincantieri, with options for three more. The first two ships are due to be delivered in May 2017 (MSC Meraviglia) and November 2017 (MSC Seaside). There are four more diesel-powered ships on order for delivery.
